What: We want to develop an intervention that helps parents of teens with chronic pain. This intervention is intended to focus on emotions and parent-teen interactions about pain and emotions. Your role in this research will be to participate as a member of a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). Members of the PAC are considered members of the research team who are serving as research partners and contributor, and whose primary involvement in this research is to help guide intervention planning and development. We will meet online on Zoom 1-2 times per month. Together, we will decide what is most important to include in this intervention with the help of your experiences and perspectives as a parent. You will also be compensated for your participation as a partner in this research.
Who: You are eligible to participate if you are a parent of either a teen (ages 13-18) currently living with chronic pain or a young adult (ages 19-25) who had chronic pain as a teen. You must also be living in Canada and be English-speaking to participate.
Participation is voluntary and will not affect the care your teen/young adult may be receiving or you or your teen’s/young adult’s relationship with their care providers in any way. This research has been approved by the University of Saskatchewan Behavioural Research Ethics Board (BEH 4554).
If you are interested in participating, please enter your name and contact information in the spaces below. We will follow-up with you by email shortly, so watch your inbox!
